Pumping for Votes

Treasurer’s site gives gas price info
State Treasurer John Kennedy’s official state government Web site is now providing information about gasoline prices.
The pumps are the regulatory domain of the state commissioner of agriculture. Kennedy’s Web site says the price tracking information is provided “as a service to the public.”
Kennedy is running as a Republican against Democratic U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu in fall elections.
Yep, it appears that once again everyone’s favorite party switching shapeshifting politician for whatever has found a way to use his current office to try and pump some new life into his seemingly unquenchable political ambitions.
Just a hunch but maybe this is what the National Republican Senatorial Campaign had in mind when they titled an entire section of their infamous Kennedy Attack Dossier “Furthering Kennedy’s Career through state funds.”
But between grandstanding on gas prices and shamelessly using his office to promote legislation requiring elected officials to spend time in public schools, it is admittedly impressive that John has the time to squander millions of dollars of taxpayer money in his role as Treasurer. Way to multi-task John!
